The province of Malaga with its 103 municipalities offers a great diversity,
in addition to the coastal municipalities in its interior it has many possibilities to enjoy and get to know.
It has a wealth of history and natural landscapes for the enjoyment of nature lovers and hikers.
In Malaga, in just a few kilometres you can move from one tourist town to another, where it seems that the years have not gone by and the traditional white villages are still preserved.
You cannot miss, among other municipalities:
ANTEQUERA
El Torcal de Antequera, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, consists of a natural landscape whose limestone rocks, have been adopted by the erosive action of different natural agents, whimsical shapes, which have culminated in a karst landscape, where it is worth noting the existence of fossils and lichens of many different species.
For golf lovers, there is the Antequera Golf course with 18 spectacular holes with a wonderful landscape, at the foot of the Natural Park of El Torcal de Antequera. It is a course surrounded by protected species, which gives it its ecological character.
FRIGILIANA
It is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain which should be visited. It has whitewashed sloping streets, cobbled pavements, windows with colourful flowers, it is difficult to convey in words what it is like.
Its historic quarter of Moorish origin is one of the best preserved in the whole province of Malaga, and its well-kept Moorish quarter is known as Barribarto.

- Botanical Garden of Santa Fiora.
RONDA
Ronda has an outstanding place among the oldest and most beautiful monumental cities in Spain.
Ronda has all the characteristics to be able to dedicate time to quietly enjoy the discovery of its corners in peace and quiet, savouring every moment.
The typical sight of Ronda is its New Bridge over the famous Tajo de Ronda.
Let’s not forget the hanging houses located over the gorge of the river Guadalevín and whose vision leaves everyone who contemplates them speechless.
In the Sierra de las Nieves there are a multitude of routes for hiking while enjoying nature in its purest state, with numerous mountains that are associated with huge gorges and ravines, especially the Caina, which provide a unique geomorphological identity. It should be remembered that this park is also a member of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism.
The Spanish firs are one of the protected botanical stars of this Natural Park, forests of Spanish firs that are unique redoubts in the Iberian Peninsula, also protected are the yew and the mountain gall oak, apart from holm oaks and cork oaks, and a singular flora that delights any botany enthusiast because it offers border species between the Mediterranean domain and the Atlantic domain.
Among the animal species, the absolute protagonist of the area is the mountain goat, without forgetting protected species such as the golden eagle or the wild cat.
CAMINITO DEL REY
This is a pass that has been built, excavated or attached to the walls of the Gaitanes Gorge, between the municipalities of Antequera, Álora and Ardales. The gorge is a canyon that was excavated by the river Gualdalhorce, and which can be accessed from the Guadalhorce reservoirs and from El Chorro to the south. The path is currently only about 3 kms long, walking along footbridges of varying widths, which can be as little as 70cm wide, and the height can be as much as 100 metres high.
This unmissable corner of the province of Málaga is located between the municipalities of Álora, Antequera and Ardales, and is accessible from the north from the Guadalhorce reservoirs and from the south from El Chorro.
OJÉN
Located between the Sierra de las Nieves and the Mediterranean Sea. Ojen is well known for its nature tourism and is located only 10 km from the beaches of Marbella. In this area there is a wide variety of sporting activities, from hiking to caving and climbing among other activities.
Near the village you will find the Botanical Park of Ojén, called El Cerezal, where you will find centenary chestnut trees and cork oaks among others.
In Sierra Blanca you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views from the Natural Viewpoint of El Juanar.
This setting of lush pine forests, the sea and the mountains make up a descriptive and unique picture of the area. Another high point that will surprise you is the Natural Viewpoint of El Corzo.
From Ojén you can start your route through the Sierra de las Nieves Nature Reserve. This park has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and is one of the richest ecological strongholds in Andalusia thanks to its 3,000 hectares of Spanish firs, a protected species.
Ojén has several symbols, one of which is water, and the Fuente de los Chorros (Fountain of the Jets) can be found on a stroll through the village. Water has been flowing from the five spouts of this fountain for more than a century, since 1905 to be precise.
The Oil Mill Museum, which exhibits original machinery used for milling olives and artistic exhibits; and the Wine Museum, located in an old distillery.
The Ojén Caves. These natural monuments of karst origin have been linked to the life of the village for centuries.
